Nabi Osman

Village in the northern part of the Bekaa Valley. It is part of the Baalbek District. It is home to 5 families of which Nazha and El Kurdie are the largest. Due to lack of oppotunities and the Lebanese war a large number of the population has immigrated to Australia, Italy, the United Kingdom and West Africa. Unlike most of the villages in Northern Bekaa, most of the residents are secular, this is due to the fact that the majority of it's population supports Syrian Social Nationalist Party. The village is home to several famouse personalities: Malek Wehbe (SSNP martyr), Deeb El Kurdie (SSNP activist), and Nibal El Kurdie (Mechanical Engineer).

The altitude of this village ranges from 950 to 1300 meters above sea level. It's economy is restricted to agriculture ( vine, apples, etc...). It has cold and dry winters and very hot and dry summers.
