Hello, Everyone! I'm Titusfox (Pronounced Tytusfox). I'm a reviewer/rollbacker and have been on Wikipedia for about 3 years now. I usually fight vandalism and have even been sent to WP:AN3! I also run Edit Quest (in a link below). I have done a fair bit of contribution to the WP:MOTD project and still sometimes post Mottoes there. I also recently got involved with the Pokemon TCG and so am happy to talk about that!

WikiCup 2016: Game On!

We are about to enter the second week of the 2016 WikiCup. The most recent player to sign up brings the current total to 101 contestants. Signups close on 5 February. If you’re interested, you can join this year's WikiCup here.

We are aware that in some areas the scoring bot’s numbers are a little bit off (i.e., overly generous) and are working to have that corrected as soon as possible.--MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:08, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

January 2016

Information icon Hello Titusfox. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), content (CSD A3), or significance (CSD A7) moments after they are created, as you did at Stereofever. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. CSD A3 does not apply, since they identified the subject of the article. CSD A11 does not apply since there is no evidence they creator is affiliated with the band.Template:Z149 Funnyfarmofdoom (talk to me) 20:01, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man!

Just leaving you a message to say hello! It's been awhile since we've given each other a high-five; you're awesome. See you around ;-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 06:24, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2015 March newsletter

One of Adam Cuerden’s several quality restorations during round 1

That's it, the first round is done, sign-ups are closed and we're into round 2. Forty-seven competitors move into this round (a bit shy of the expected 64), and we are roughly broken into eight groups of six. The top two of each group will go through to round 3, and then the top scoring 16 "wildcards" across all groups.

Twenty-two Good Articles were submitted, including three by Connecticut Cyclonebiskit (submissions), and two each by Denmark MPJ-DK (submissions), Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions), Florida 12george1 (submissions), and New South Wales Cas Liber (submissions). Twenty-one Featured Pictures were claimed, including 17 by There's always time for skeletons Adam Cuerden (submissions) (the Round 1 high scorer). Thirty-one contestants saw their DYKs appear on the main page, with a commanding lead (28) by Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions). Twenty-nine participants conducted GA reviews with Lancashire J Milburn (submissions) completing nine.

If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Thanks to everyone for participating, and good luck to those moving into round 2. WikiCup 2016 March newsletter (update)

Along with getting the year wrong in the newsletter that went out earlier this week, we did not mention (as the bot did not report) that New South Wales Cas Liber (submissions) claimed the first Featured Article Persoonia terminalis of the 2016 Wikicup. Just a note that I removed your U5 speedy deletion tag from this page. It doesn't look like a case of web hosting in user space to me; it looks like a perfectly viable userspace draft. The user has also contributed to mainspace articles in the same topic area. All in all I think we can give him the benefit of the doubt and assume good faith.

Cheers,

Thparkth (talk) 02:12, 18 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I also removed your A3 CSD tags that you placed on articles that did include content (like Ken Owen (journalist)). Please be careful when you evaluate articles and if you believe speedy deletion is called for, use the appropriate code. Liz Read! Talk! 18:05, 20 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
