Kim Kardashian has admitted that she felt "insecure" after being criticised for her appearance while pregnant.
The reality star's weight and fashion choices came under intense press scrutiny while she was expecting daughter North West, who she gave birth to back in June.
"For me, having people criticise what I wore and looked like when I was pregnant - that was hard," Kardashian told Vogue.
"It made me feel insecure, so I have tried to avoid the limelight more. Once you start focusing on the other stuff, the fragrances and our fashion line, you stop worrying about the rest.
"The biggest misconception about my family and me is that we're lazy. I work hard; the show is a full-time job. Sometimes I don't think people realise that - we work 7am until 7pm on the programme. We do so much, we work on the show, on fragrances, on our fashion line - there's a lot.
"Also, people have this idea that my mum [Kris Jenner] controls us all and will book her kids to do anything if it makes money. I am in my 30s - my mum can't tell me what to do."
The 33-year-old added that she was "blown away by the generosity" of designers who showered North with gifts during Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.
Kim, who showed off her post-baby body on Instagram last week, launches her new Kardashian Kollection for Lipsy on October 24.
