In 2012 a 35mm Nitrate print of this cartoon was found, with other 35mm Nitrate shorts, stored in the freezer of former "Gypsy Projectionist" in Arizona. The Grandchildren drove on a hot summer day, with the Nitrate films in the car trunk, from Arizona to the San Francisco Bay Area in California. They had heard of the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum and decided to take them there, without an appointment. The Nitrate copy of this film had no titles and was at first thought to be a lost Charlie Bowers film. Closer research proved it was actually this Walter Lantz-Hot Dog cartoon "The Farm Hand". A safety 35mm print was made and is a part of the museum's film collection.
