This movie had very few shows in my town when it released and I missed the theater run due to the lack of shows. It would be great if the creators put more effort into promoting their films. Without proper promotion, the movie might not reach its intended audience, leading to poor performance at the box office. The same thing happened with Ranjan Pramod flick ' O baby'.

The movie had a good start and maintained the pace thorughout the running time. The production design was also apt for the movie.

Shajohn was exuberant throughout and his performance deserves applause. He is a great actor and we need more serious roles from him. Expecting to see more good movies from him in the future.

Shajohn from the first scene to the last. And a very nice simple tale which is gripping and thrilling. He excels with his screen presence. Has grown so much as an actor over the years.

I enjoyed this movie for its simplicity and clean story telling. No other industry can even think of making a movie like this!!!

Every other character adds well to the narrative. Suspense thrillers especially of the investigation type need to have a tight script and good narrative quality. This movie does well to capture that essence. Shajohn's ease with acting and his measured performance elevates this plot a great deal.

The character of Ramachandran was well written. It's refreshing and Shajohn's performance is excellent. There was the needed subtlety and seriousness and the softer side of the officer at home was also portrayed well. There was a balance in his character that is rarely seen. There is no over dramatisation of scenes where he is offended by his former colleagues. He is quiet and accepts the reality as it is. There is no cliché tragedy associated with the life of a credible police officer, nor is he an alcoholic. He simply loves his job as is evident from the various instances seen throughout the film. Anumol and Karamana Sudheer also gave solid performances.

CID Ramachandran Retd SI does a better job showcasing the sadness of a retired cop trying to cope with his sudden plain life than the whodunit investigation. It was refreshing to see some good writing around a cop film here, which is basically about the cop starting a PI business in his retirement. The build-up is fantastic and has some novel elements, keeping you guessing at every turn. Though most of the plot involves some convenient writing, I enjoyed working on the clues with my family as we watched it. It's the final exposition that reduced the impact the film should otherwise have had. Nonetheless, a neat thriller with an ever-good Shajohn.

As a veteran police officer, Shajon has done it so realistically!

Kalabhavan Shajon starrer 'CID Ramachandran Retired SI' has been released without much fanfare. This movie is a good treat for those who like thriller movies. For those who enjoy suspenseful films, this one is highly recommended. Kalabhavan Shajon's outstanding performance is the film's main attraction. As a veteran police officer, Shajon has done it so realistically. The movie gives a really good thriller experience on a small budget. It can be honestly said that Sanoop Sathyan has approached the film with a hands-on approach without any constraints of a newbie director. Within the first five minutes, the director has managed to convey to the audience the character's sincerity towards work and expertise in case investigation.

I watched CID Ramachandran Retd. SI on Manorama Max today. The film follows the story of a retired policeman with 33 years of meritorious service, who, unable to step away from his field even after retirement, starts a detective agency. The movie revolves around one of the investigation cases he takes up.

Kalabhavan Shajon plays the title character, and the character is brilliantly portrayed as one of the standout characters in the film. Shajon gives a full-fledged performance, while the supporting cast, including Anumol, Baiju, Sudhir Karamana, Premkumar, Shankar Mahadevan, Aziz Nedumangad, and Pauly Wilson, along with several new faces, contribute well to the story. I was also thrilled to see my dear friend Shijin Sivankutty in the film-I'm so happy for him, and I hope he gets more great roles!

While the film shapes up as a solid investigation thriller, I felt the screenplay could have been tighter. There are elements that feel unnecessary, such as the subplot involving the hero's daughter's love story, which could have been trimmed. The editing, too, could have been a bit more crisp. However, these issues don't detract significantly from the overall experience.

It's unfortunate that this movie, which hit theaters earlier this year, didn't get the success it deserved. It seems the promotion was lacking.

Nevertheless, the movie is now streaming on Manorama Max, and I recommend giving it a watch. I'll definitely head to the theater for the next Sanoop Sathian-directed film!

A very neat investigation mystery thriller

This is definitely a worth watching murder mystery thriller. The thrilling tone is maintained right from the beginning till the end.

The plot is one hell of a one. Keeps us really engaged. And the plot is Retired police inspector Ramachandran investigates a case of falsely accused suspects in a rural area, uncovering lies, betrayal, and the real culprit to exonerate the innocent and restore faith in justice.

This is the end product of a quintessential amalgamation of all the individual and minute building blocks that makes a movie. Wonderful!

My rating is 9/10.

CID Ramachandran Retd SI follows the line of a policeman investigating his crime post-retirement. The film takes its own sweet time to establish the characters and plot. Once the film switches to the investigation part, it keeps the viewers engaged not just for a bit but till the very end. Each new finding is a new turn in the investigation route. It is quite rare to have something refreshing like this in the tried and tested field of crime drama. And very satisfying to have a story that doesn't rely on predictable storyline.

Shajon was very convincing as the policeman who never rests.

If it had a better promotion and distribution, it would have been considered another gem of the year for malayalam cinema.

Would support if this turns out to be a series or a sequel.

This is indeed an immersive seat edger and a major game changer for Malayalam movies. From now on, probably most of the investigation/killer movies are going to be benchmarked based on this one. Pretty much everything about this movie, right from casting till direction is overly impressive. The sound design and music gets my special attention since it created a "never before" feel among Malayalam or maybe even other Indian language movies.

Neat investigation.

The lead actor without too much drama and over the top dialogues has solved the case.

This movie has opened up opportunities for many more sequels.

But would like to point out to the director, to be carefull of the narrative and loose ends.

Towards the ends goof ups were pretty obvious.

Detective links the murderer ,bus window glass to tea shop glass and recovers the keys which is matched to the victims bedroom door.

During the killer's narration, he mentions that he lost the bedroom keys and therefore burned ithe door to recover the phone.

And the scene shifts to court room and brought to an end.

Must Watch Investigation Movie from Mollywood

Thriller is always my one of favourite genre ! This one add to my favourite thriller films ! From the beginning to end , this movie hold the thrills, the attention to each scenes ,the way story moving is very interesting !!!

The movie is really a great thriller with a good plot and good execution from the whole team.

Kalabhavan Shajon's excellent acting is the main highlight of this film. Ramachandran in this was a magnificent role of Shajon, who has proved his ability through villain roles and comedy roles. He has done it so realistically as a retired policeman. Coming to the film, CID Ramachandran Retired SI is a decent investigation thriller film. An excellent treat for fans of suspenseful films. Kalabhavan Shajon's outstanding performance is the film's standout feature. The investigation thriller CID Ramachandran Retired SI is a passable movie. Experience it in theatre.

Watched 3 times The credit goes to casting, acting, scripting, music, direction, camera and editing equally. Everything was perfect. Everything was perfect This one is not like the other stereotype thrillers. I have 2 request only. Everyone should watch the movie in theaters and please don't try to spoil.

This is a beautiful thriller. I thank Sanoop Sathyan for this splendid experience. My rating is 9/10

A DECENT INVESTIVAGION THRILLER!

As the name suggests, the story revolves around a retired SI who becomes a CID, takes up the investigation of an unproven case and cracks the case. The story begins with a policeman named Ramachandran ending his 30+ years of service. There is a saying 'Once a Cop, Always a Cop'. So even though he had finished his service career, he started a private investigation agency with the encouragement of his friend, an advocate. The film also tells about the investigation of the murder case that comes later. For those who enjoy suspenseful films, this one is highly recommended.
