Three years removed from his performance 2021’s House of Gucci, Jared Leto is set to don a bald cap yet again, this time swapping out the skullet of Paolo Gucci for the literal skull of Eternia’s greatest supervillain, Skeletor, in the upcoming live-action film of Masters of the Universe.
Directed by Travis Knight, Amazon MGM’s upcoming adaptation of the beloved cartoon is due in theaters on June 5th, 2026. Along with Leto’s Skeletor, the film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Alison Brie as Skeletor’s lieutenant, Evil-Lyn.
Rounding out the cast are House of the Dragon’s Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw; Game of Thrones’ Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man; Riverdale’s Camila Mendes as He-Man’s companion, Teela; and Idris Elba as Teela’s father, Man-at-Arms.

William Shatner is most known by people as the man who led Star Trek in its early years. From 1966 to 1994, Shatner played James T. Kirk and did so brilliantly. A tentpole character of the franchise that had fans flocking to it for decades. Now, in the twilight of his life, it looks like he's finally stepping back from leading man roles. At least on television.
Despite being 93, Shatner is still going. He's voicing the character Keldor for Masters of the Universe: Revolution and recently starred in the 2021 film Senior Moment. He's not just still acting but he's serving as a host for a variety of programming as well. Like with his newest series, The UnXplained: Mysteries of the Universe.
Yet, if you were to dig deep and be fair, Shatner has only starred in a handful of shows. Eight by our count. He may have been in more but these...

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget the world is a beautiful place filled with unimaginable beauty and wonders beneath every shadow, racing riverbed, and endless sky. We need to remember how nature came first and what the world could look like if it were to retake its course. Thankfully, Dreamworks Animation‘s The Wild Robot trailer reminds us of Mother Nature’s grand and beguiling majesty, even if that vision is through the eyes of a character made of metal and wires.
The Wild Robot is an adaptation of Peter Brown’s award-winning #1 New York Times best-seller. The series has three books: The Wild Robot, The Wild Robot Escapes, and The Wild Robot Protects. The story follows a robot – Rozzum unit 7134, “Roz” for short – that becomes shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must adapt to its new surroundings to survive. Throughout Rozzum’s epic journey, the curious automaton forms relationships with woodland creatures,...

Leave the World Behind has officially become one of Netflix’s most popular films of all time.
Sam Esmail’s thriller has been steadily moving toward the English Films list for several weeks and finally crossed the threshold during the week of January 22 to 30, debuting at No. 8 with 136.3M views in its first 52 days. Since Netflix now uses a 91-day premiere window to measure the success of its titles, the film still has plenty of time to cement itself higher on the list.
In fact, it’s likely that Leave the World Behind will jump quickly past The Mother, which is currently at No. 7 with just 136.4M views in its premiere window.
Also headed to the most popular list is Berlin, which has tallied 50.1M views in its first 31 days on Netflix — enough to get it to No. 10 on the Non-English language list. The Money Heist franchise now holds four...

Largely rejected upon its release back in 1987, the live-action film adaptation of Masters of the Universe (watch it Here) has gathered a cult following over the decades, and elements of the film have even been worked into the recent animated Netflix shows Masters of the Universe: Revelation and Masters of the Universe: Revolution. On April 17th, Umbrella Home Entertainment in Australia will be giving the film a collector’s edition Blu-ray release – and copies are available for pre-order Here! With all due respect to everything that made Masters of the Universe so popular during the 1980s, there is no denying the fact that through numerous retellings of the saga, the characterization and narrative treatment have always oscillated between edginess and stagnation. Thanks to the dedicated collectors, the franchise has managed to keep its footing for so long in the pop culture landscape, which otherwise doesn’t allow space for such dated lore, which hardly grew in the span of thirty years. The challenge of exploring new possibilities while remaining faithful to the essence of the source material seemed to be a daunting task, especially when it came time to tackle the He-Man lore.
With Netflix allowing much-needed freedom, Kevin Smith’s Masters of the Universe adaptations finally break the shackles of the franchise’s’ outdated treatment as they manage to strike the perfect balance between new ideas and the original vision of the makers.

One of the defining features of toy line-oriented franchise is that there is no shortage of visually appealing characters. A vast number of behavioral archetypes and appearance combinations ensure a steady supply of characters, targeted to bolster sales numbers while ignoring the quality of the writing behind them. Similarly, one of Mattel’s most popular toy line IPs, Masters of the Universe set in the fantasy-adventure genre, boasts a significant number of key figures which have gone through little to no change since their first appearance during the 80s.
With the advent of Ott, a number of franchises have received a new opportunity to unlock their potential, and Netflix’s Masters of the Universe, released in 2021, proved the storytelling prospects of He-Man lore when makers aren’t afraid to take risks. Despite being hit with seemingly divisive reactions, the series served its purpose of rejuvenating the fandom, and as a result,...

The cast of Masters of the Universe: Revolution includes some notable names from geek culture.
The Masters of the Universe franchise started as a hugely successful 1980s toy line with a corresponding cartoon that was little more than a thinly-veiled commercial for the action figures.
Now, Kevin Smith and Netflix have joined forces for an animated continuation that’s much more sophisticated than its Reagan-era counterpart. Part 1 of this revival arrived in 2021, and the next installment has finally dropped.

This article contains spoilers for Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
The big twist at the end of Masters of the Universe: Revelation Part 2 was the reveal of Hordak (Keith David), the main villain of the original 1985 She-Ra series. Masters of the Universe: Revolution directly follows on from that, with Skeletor (Mark Hamill) working for and eventually betraying Hordak.
Episode 4 has the two duke it out in a battle right out of kids playtime, with Hordak’s legs even shapeshifting into a rocket. Skeletor manages to gain the upper-hand and seemingly kills Hordak, stabbing him through the heart. That isn’t the end of him, though.
The fifth and final episode of Revolution has Skeletor defeated and Eternia saved. It feels like the show is wrapping itself up, ready to close out this chapter in the Motu franchise. Then, nope, we get a final scene that sends the show hurtling in an incredible new direction.

Plot: The new epic chapter in the battle for Castle Grayskull!. The newly mechanized Skeletor, armed with Motherboard’s might, attacks Eternia’s heart while Prince Adam grapples with a new responsibility and what that means for him as He-Man!
Review: Back in 2021, I gave a glowing review to Kevin Smith’s revival of He-Man. Titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation, the Netflix original was released in two five-episode drops, both of which I loved. A blend of modern animation techniques coupled with a throwback to the Filmation style of the 1980s cartoon, Revelation was blasted online by a vocal minority who disliked Smith’s decision to “kill off” Prince Adam in the first episode and make the series centered on Teela and many of the female characters. By the end of the full series, Smith’s vision came to fruition, even though many fans were not swayed. The second...

This article contains spoilers for Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
Episode 3 of Masters of the Universe: Revolution features former Man-At-Arms Duncan (Liam Cunningham) and wizard Orko (Griffin Newman) achieving an important goal, enhancing He-Man’s Sword of Power. To do this, Duncan goes to the one person he believes can do it, a locksmith who is, “small in stature and tall on talent.”
That locksmith is a short creature named Gwildor (Ted Biaselli.)
For those not well-versed in their Masters of the Universe franchise lore, Gwildor doesn’t come from the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Filmation cartoon. He actually debuted in the 1987 live-action movie, Masters of the Universe, played by Billy Barty. In that film he was also a locksmith whose main purpose in the plot was as the creator of the Cosmic Key, the object used to transport He-Man and company to Earth in that film.

Kevin Smith’s Netflix animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation was envisioned as a follow-up to the 1980s show He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and now Revelation is getting a follow-up of its own. Smith and Netflix are set to bring us the sequel series Masters of the Universe: Revolution sometime in 2024 – and while a specific release date hasn’t been revealed, promotion of the show has started with the unveiling of a clip that shows He-Man going to battle with the villainous Scare Glow! You can check it out at the bottom of this article.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation viewers may remember that when Eternia was running low on magic, villain characters Tri-Klops, Trap Jaw, Whiplash, and Blast-Attak became part of a technology-focused Motherboard cult, where followers were turned into cyborgs. Picking up where Revelation left off, Revolution is an all-new story that focuses on the classic He-Man vs.

Exclusive: Kevin Smith’s next stop in his Askewniverse will be a re-team with Dark Horse Comics on comic book series sequel Quick Stops II.
The black-and-white four-issue anthology series will explore the origin story of character Nancy Goldruff — first mentioned in Smith’s 1999 movie Dogma as creator of a kids’ film and TV series called Mooby — and the bovine franchise she spawned.
Smith told us: “In Quick Stops I, we visited four small stories in the Askewniverse. So for Quick Stops II, we did four issues of a massive story that spans a few decades to tell the tale of Mooby, the Golden Calf. And where that salacious story takes us is gritty, graphic and grotesquely grown up. I cannot wait to introduce you to Nancy Goldruff – who warranted merely a mention in 1999’s Dogma, but gets a full-fledged secret origin story in Quick Stops II!”

“Thanks to the SAG strike, I’m the most famous person here,” joked Kevin Smith at a San Diego Comic-Con panel for Netflix/Mattel’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
Smith says that the panel today is different than originally planned, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but says the actors are doing what they need to do for their union. “Let’s give it up for unions! We hope that they crush their overlords, like Netflix,” he said quipping about his streaming employer that’s behind the He-Man show.

In Kevin Smith’s Netflix animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Eternia was running low on magic, so villain characters Tri-Klops, Trap Jaw, Whiplash, and Blast-Attak became part of a technology-focused Motherboard cult, where followers were turned into cyborgs. The Motherboard character will play a bigger role in the upcoming sequel series Masters of the Universe: Revolution, and now Mattel has unveiled images and video of a Motherboard action figure! One image of the figure can be seen at the bottom of this article, and more can be found on the Mattel website.
The Motherboard action figure will sell for the price of $65, and will be available for pre-order as of July 21st.
Here’s some information on the figure: Inspired by Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Motherboard is the new threat to Eternia. This Masterverse figure brings the mechanical winged woman bearing the sigil of The Evil Horde to life at 12 inches tall.

After a successful post-pandemic return in 2022, San Diego Comic-Con will hold a much quieter event for 2023, which runs from July 20-23. In June, with possibility of SAG-AFTRA joining the WGA on the picket lines — as well as the success of other focused fan events (like Star Wars Celebration and Tudum) — several major players decided to sit out this year’s convention before the schedule had even been announced, including Marvel, Lucasfilm, HBO, Universal, Sony and Netflix. By the time Sdcc announced the schedule in early July, Warner Bros. had also elected to be absent this year, despite upcoming DC projects like “Blue Beetle” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”
Some studios and productions, however, did announce major panels in the hope that SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP would strike a deal in time for the convention — which didn’t happen. SAG-AFTRA is now on strike, less than a week before Sdcc is set to begin,...

While Kevin Smith’s Netflix animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation was envisioned as a follow-up to the 1980s show He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, it also included some nods to the 1987 live-action Masters of the Universe film, including the presence of flying discs, the characters of Pigboy and Blade, and even a line of dialogue that was lifted from the movie. So now that Smith and Netflix are moving forward with the sequel series Masters of the Universe: Revolution, it seems fitting that a cast member from the 1987 film has joined the voice cast. Coming Soon reports that Meg Foster, who played Evil-Lyn on screen in ’87, will be providing the voice of Motherboard, “who is described as “”an ancient sorceress of technology in the fight for the soul of Eternia.”
