Ambassador David Brück took up his duties as Permanent Representative of Ireland to the OECD on 2 September 2024.
An Irish diplomat with over twenty years’ experience, Ambassador Brück most recently served as the Director of the International Security Policy Unit in the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin.
Immediately prior to this current role, he was seconded to the European Union External Action Service (EEAS) where he worked on the Middle East Peace Process.
Ambassador Brück also served overseas in Buenos Aires and Madrid and at the Permanent Representation of Ireland to the European Union, where he worked as one of the lead Irish negotiators dealing with the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.
His previous assignments in Dublin have included there years as Deputy Director of the Irish government’s humanitarian aid programme.
Ambassador Brück holds degrees in European Studies from Trinity College Dublin and College of Europe in Bruges. He is joined in Paris by his wife and their two children.
