Known errors
Known errata as of 1 August 2002 have been incorporated into
the XHTML 1.0
Second Edition. Main changes are as follows:
- This Recommendation now defers to CSS
for the definition of white space handling.
- This Recommendation clarifies the rules for the media types of
XHTML 1.0 documents, deferring to RFC 2854
and RFC 3236
for specific requirements.
- The HTML Compatibility Guidelines appendix provides additional guidance
for issues not envisioned in the original version of this Recommendation.
- The DTDs defined in
Appendix
A have had minor changes to correct errors or omissions in the original
implementation. Changes include the
id attribute on all
elements, which was missing in some elements.
