Remove the jewelry when washing hands, showering, or swimming to keep the color effect longer. Detergents will cause the patina to wipe off faster. Patina can be applied again. Can I shower with it? I advise you not to, even though it won't damage the piece. Sterling silver may change color, get more oxidized or lose oxidation if you get it wet.
