$6 million has been announced to support a new 3-year project to collect data on the digital inclusion experiences of First Nations people in urban, regional and remote areas across Australia. Led by RMIT University’s ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society, the data aims to help close the digital gap and experience of First Nations people, and will be available to First Nations communities and organisations to use in their own analysis, planning and service delivery. This work is part of a $68 million package of First Nations Digital Inclusion initiatives announced in the 2024-25 Budget and forms part of the Government’s $1.1 billion Better Connectivity Plan for Regional and Rural Australia. #ConnectingAustralians

The Australian Government has launched the Safer Driving Starts with You road safety campaign. This national campaign will reinforce the importance of road safety for all drivers and remind people that everyone has a role in reducing crashes, injuries and fatalities on our roads. The campaign follows an increase in total annual deaths from road crashes between 2018 and 2024 – including 1,295 in 2024 (until October) – and will appear on television, radio, social media and outdoors, such as on billboards and at service centres. #RoadSafety #SaferDrivingStartsWithYou
