There is nothing like it – the unity that sport brings. Being part of a team and a sporting club becomes the community you never knew you needed and creates lifelong friendships that transcend generations. Sport calls people in different ways, on and off the pitch, play or can’t play, coach, cheer, cook, manage, drive, nurture, donate; - the ways to become involved are endless and only limited by your time. Here is one of those stories. Ian is the dad of Susan, a rebel team member. When Susan shared this story, it was with such pride and emotion that we knew we wanted to tell it. We know that this is just one of many stories that is playing out across Australia every day and every weekend. This powerful connection to support our children, as they chase their sporting dreams (or perhaps live out ours!), is truly transformative. We are healthier, happier and united, in the love of the game. Sport is Calling. #rebelsport #sportiscalling #community

Today we launch our Lifeline campaign, our fourth since commencing this partnership and we are proud to say that we, along with our partners, have raised over $1.7million to date. As a principal Lifeline Australia partner, this October opportunity around World Mental Health month and World Mental Health Day, is the perfect time to raise not only funds but also awareness for the meaningful work Lifeline does to ensure no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone. We have teamed up with adidas to launch a collection of products for Lifeline with 100% of profits donated to Lifeline to support its goal of ending suicide in Australia. In addition, adidas will also donate $1 for every adidas product sold at rebel from 1 - 31 October to Lifeline, and our customers are invited to donate to Lifeline online or in any rebel store Australia-wide throughout October. Fronting our campaign is rebel Ambassador and Australian Matildas’ superstar Mary Fowler, who is keen to use her platform to raise awareness of maintaining mental health through exercise. “Mental health is close to my heart, and through this rebel x adidas campaign I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my platform to raise awareness for a cause that impacts so many people,” said Ms Fowler. With our tagline of ‘Mental Health is a Team Sport’, this campaign highlights how being active, playing sport and doing exercise benefits both your body and your mind. rebel Managing Director, Gary Williams, said, “At rebel, we want to normalise conversations about mental health and ensure Aussies know they’re not alone. We know participating in sport can be transformative to physical and mental wellbeing, and at rebel we are proud to provide Aussies with the tools they need to get active. With the support of adidas, this partnership takes this a step further – empowering shoppers to make a real change by donating to Lifeline and spreading awareness about the benefits of exercise for the mind and body.” Lifeline Chief Executive Officer, Colin Seery, said, “Our partnership with rebel and the launch of the Lifeline Collection will raise vital funds to ensure Lifeline can support Australians anytime, anywhere in the way which suits them best – whether that is on the phone, online, or via text.” “This collaboration is all about building awareness, starting conversations and building confidence around reaching out for help when you are doing it tough – and encouraging others to do so as well.” adidas General Manager - Pacific, Steve Castledine, said, “At adidas, we believe that sport has the power to change lives. With this collaboration we want to raise awareness for Lifeline and the issue of mental health in Australia and most importantly, raise money for Lifeline and the work they do by the sale of the Collection and adidas products.” If you or anyone you know need support contact Lifeline on 131114 or by text on 0477131114 or chat Lifeline.org.au where help is available 24/7.
