16 days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence began on Monday, 25 November. The Hatchery’s family and domestic violence seminar series recognises and acknowledges the importance of this work and the critical need to protect women and children from this harm. The Hatchery is launching the next complimentary seminar in our family & domestic violence series as part of our commitment to support services and practitioners with ongoing access to critical research and information about FDV and coercive control. Our mission is to connect people with the knowledge to inspire change, and we’re offering this seminar, at no cost, to inspire change for anyone working in the family violence sector or whose work touches the lives of those impacted by family, domestic, or sexual violence.

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and we are reminded of the devastating reality women face globally. Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed as a result of violence. Here in Australia, 66 women have already lost their lives this year. The urgency for change could not be clearer.
