Wesfarmers today announced that Ian Bailey, Managing Director of Kmart Group, will retire from the position in April 2025. Following his retirement, Mr Bailey will remain with Kmart Group to support a smooth leadership transition and serve as Chairman of Anko Global.    Mr Bailey will be succeeded by Aleksandra Spaseska, Kmart Group’s Chief Financial Officer. Wesfarmers has released its 2024 Modern Slavery Statement highlighting the Group's efforts in managing modern slavery risks. This year, we monitored over 3,100 supplier sites, identified issues, and implemented remediation strategies. With large, deep and global supply chains, we aim for transparency in our reporting, disclosing critical breaches and adding details about breach types and remediation. We are excited to see the launch of the new Jetstar Uniform today. We are proud to have been involved in this project and work closely with the Designer Genevieve Smart of Ginger & Smart and the team from Jetstar. “Our role was to use our technical expertise to bring Genevieve’s design vision to life with maximum impact, flexibility and durability and of course with a focus on sustainability. Prioritising staff comfort, selecting fabrics that would enhance the impact of key design features, work well for different body types, and stay looking great over time were all key performance metrics” explained Arthur Thomasse, Group Manager Design and R&D for Workwear Group (WWG). Maintaining a high level of presentation was also important given the flight crew are one of the most prominent representations of an airline. Thomasse says WWG Uniforms provides all businesses it works with a minimum of 12 months guarantee on the item looking ‘as new’ – based on application of the item and it being cared for correctly. WWG Uniforms is the bespoke division within Workwear Group (owned by Wesfarmers) that also makes trade brands, KingGee and Hard Yakka, and healthcare and corporate apparel brand, NNT Uniforms.
