Large, thick, antique Gothic hand-carved oak wood buffet or cabinet door, circa 17th century. It features a Renaissance man and woman in stylistic dress (perhaps an effigy to the original designers / owners of the piece), flanking highly detailed scrollwork. Two male gothic busts (or angels with stylized wings?) are on each upper corner, over an arch which rests atop a pair ornate columns. It also features the original key-lock mechanism and antique hinges. The door was from a 17th-century cabinet, which we were unable to save. Please see our other listings for the companion piece and additional hand-carved oak architectural salvage elements. Measures: 22" x 4" x 26". Weight: 22 pounds.
