  • ✈️ The EU prevents unsafe airlines from flying anywhere in Europe, ensuring the highest level of air safety for EU travellers.    Today, we updated our EU Air Safety List, which includes 129 airlines banned for not meeting international safety standards:    🚩 100 airlines certified in 15 states, due to inadequate safety oversight  🚩 22 airlines certified in Russia and 7 from other states, based on serious safety deficiencies identified   🚩 2 airlines subject to operational restrictions    Ensuring air safety for all passengers is at the very heart of our aviation safety policy.    You can find more information and the airlines included on the list here: europa.eu/!MvkwNC #EuropeanUnion #Aviation

  •   🇪🇺🤝🇸🇮🇬🇷 Boosting our solidarity for Slovenians and Greeks afterlast year’s climate disasters.    This week, we have paid:     🇸🇮 €328 million to help recover from the devastating floods of August and September 2023;     🇬🇷 €76 million will ease the financial burden of reconstruction efforts after the September 2023 cyclone.     In total, the two countries have received around €529 million from the EU Solidarity Fund to help them face the consequences of these climate challenges.     We stand ready to step up and help all people and communities across Europe when it's most needed.   • Last stop on the way to Schengen ✔️     Bulgarians and Romanians can now cross also the internal land Schengen borders without any restrictions, fully joining the Schengen area starting 1st January.    The Council’s decision marks the end of checks on land borders for both countries.    Schengen means opportunities.
