On Wednesday, 11 May 2022, the European Commission adopted a new European strategy for a Better Internet for Kids (BIK+), which aims to improve age-appropriate digital services and ensure that every child is protected, empowered, and respected online.
Now, two years after BIK+ launched, EUN, on behalf of the European Commission, is evaluating the strategy’s progress and successes together with children and young people, teachers and educators, parents and caregivers, and other stakeholder groups in the BIK ecosystem. In doing so, the evaluation activity also takes the significant changes to the European legal and political landscape since its adoption into account. Through a consultation-based methodology, we want to hear from all our stakeholders!
At the heart of this work lies the great support of the Insafe network members across the EU, Iceland and Norway that facilitate consultations with children and young people to learn directly from them what worked well and what brought about palpable positive change to their digital lives.
Over the coming weeks and months, we will inform you about the progress of this important evaluation activity and post the consolidated report foreseen to be published in February 2025 here on this page.
Follow us on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and LinkedIn and subscribe to the quarterly BIK bulletin to stay updated.
If you have any questions about the first BIK+ strategy evaluation, please do not hesitate to contact bikevaluation@betterinternetforkids.eu.
Find out more about the evaluation, and download the evaluation materials, on the BIK+ evaluation dedicated page.
