40 Days at the Foot of the Cross: A Gaze of Love from the Heart of Our Blessed Mother

Crucifixion was a common and especially cruel type of torture and execution in the ancient world long before the time of Christ. The Romans made crucifixion widespread, famously crucifying Jesus.

Jesus fell three times while carrying his cross to the place where he was crucified. The falls are marked as part of the Stations of the Cross, which many churches observe on Good Friday.

All of these are taken from real photos I took last week at a nearby church. I darkened them and took out the overcast sky (it rained on us) and added gradients.
