Colour tint

Color is a general term that describes hues, shades, tints, and tones. Many use these terms interchangeably, even though each of them has a distinct meaning.

Holo's [http://developer.android.com/design/style/color.html] color palette is opinionated, but limited. Five hues each in a primary and darker shade for a total of ten colors. (There's swatches for lighter tints, but these are rarely used.)
