Origami Buildings - Free download as PDF File (.pdf), Text File (.txt) or read online for free. This paper investigates the geometrical basis of regular corrugations, with specific emphasis on Developable Double Corrugations (DDCs) the word count for this paper is 10, 137 (excluding - title content, abstract, page content, list of figures and tables and references) the objective is to mathematically explore DDCs for architectural form finding, using physical folding as a primary algorithmic…

These two origami corrugations are very close to each other. One has all the 'bows' up and the other has half of them down(flic.kr/p/EJJ3fA). The 'all up' version reminds this corrugation by Ilan Garibi a lot flic.kr/p/8VRESw , however I didn't do it using square grid, the whole pattern uses 22.5˚ technique instead. Of course I didn't intend to copy Ilan, I found this pattern during the search of the linear analogs of my curved pieces.

In this research, we study a method to produce families of origami tessellations from given polyhedral surfaces. The resulting tessellated surfaces generalize the patterns proposed by Ron Resch and allow the construction of an origami tessellation that approximates a given surface. We will achieve these patterns by first constructing an initial configuration of the tessellated surfaces by separating each facets and inserting folded parts between them based on the local configuration. The…
