Mijke | Sewing & designing my own clothes on Instagram: "I was so disappointed when I noticed the strapless dress I had made for myself wouldn’t stay in place ☹️ But this beautiful sewing community stepped up and came up with the idea of adding a waist stay. @jasiju_ send me a great video from @hemingandfitz who alters wedding dresses and shows a wide waist stay. The pattern of this dress from @burda_style already gave instructions to add a little waistband inside, but that one wasn’t wide enough for me. The waistline of the dress sits above my natural waistline. So I made a waistband with elastic 8cm wide and added some boning for extra stability. I attached the top part of the elastic to the waist seam of the dress with cross stitches so the bottom part of the elastic sits on my natural
