How to Make Dandelion Salve – DIY Herbal Healing Salve

Rich in anti-inflammatory antioxidants, polyphenols and flavonoids, this dandelion salve works beautifully as an all-purpose healing balm for cuts, scrapes, burns, bug bites, chapped skin and more.

I originally made these lotion bars for my husband. His primary job is as a rock mason and the mortar and rough stone often leaves his hands dry, cracked, and bleeding. Lotion bars have a long history of helping the toughest cases of cracked, dry skin, while dandelion oil is particularly useful for alleviating the chapped skin and soreness that comes along with manual labor.

Before making this dandelion salve, you will first need to make dandelion infused oil. You will also need some kind of jars or tins to keep the finished salves in. This recipe makes about 12 ounces of salve total, or six 2 ounce tins.
