Whaling ships 19th century

For the first time in more than 140 years, humans have laid eyes on doomed ships from the infamous Whaling Disaster of 1871. Here are photos of the shipwrecks that got stuck in Alaskan pack ice.

An illustration of a lookout on a whaler. I think this may be inaccurate - whaling ships usually had large metal rings attached to the mastheads that the lookouts would stand in.
