These pendants are hand crafted by shaping pure copper wire around a natural gemstone. Each piece is completely unique, made with the care and loving intent of handmade products. Pendants are sent in a jewellery box, with cleaning instructions, a polishing pad and a 60cm chain made from copper plated steel. You can upgrade your chain to pure copper or different lengths or styles in my store. Gemstone Lore The dazzling crystals displayed inside this agate represent the divine beauty of our world. It provides the steady, easy stability of the earth, comforting protection and a guard against danger. Garnet represents the primordial fire, the chaos of life, and the deepest of emotions. It is one of the most ancient known talismans, dating back in folklore many thousands of years. It has long been associated with witchcraft, female power, and anger, love and passion. Care Instructions The copper has been oxidised by me to prevent fast colour change and to highlight the detail in the pendants. As with all metals, it will slowly tarnish over time. To maintain it's colour and shine, use the including polishing pad. Alternatively, you can simply run the pendant under some warm water and rub gently with a very fine steel wool such as grade #0000 (available from most hardware stores). Sterling Silver and Gold can be kept shiny with a jewellery polishing cloth. About Wire Wrapping Wire wrapping has been used as a technique to make jewellery since as far back as 2000BC. It is the only jewellery making method that uses no soldering or casting, with the loops and curves of the wire holding the stone and each other in place. It is an intricate and time consuming art form. About My Work I love working with natural materials of stone, crystals and metal, and find it a grounding and meditative process. Each gemstone is a small gift from nature, with a meaning that comes from thousands of years of folklore. The small piece of comfort or clarity that people can gain from a talisman that has a history that means something to them personally is a wonderful thing. No two pieces are the same.
