This is an advanced (and patient) beginner to intermediate level PDF crochet pattern. The pattern includes detailed instructions and pictures for the different techniques used. It explains how to read the flower graphs for the colourwork. The dress is worked from the top down and uses mostly half double crochet as well as single crochet and Romanian chord stitches. It is written in English and in US terminology. Since the non-working yarn is always being carried, there are not as many ends to weave in as you might first think. The pattern also comes with a lookbook of my wonderful testers' versions of the dress. The Astrid flower dress is a flowy, whimsical, and very wearable dress. Twirling around in it is lots of fun! It is very comfortable to wear and perfect for layering. It is a big project that requires time and patience, but it is so worth it! The pattern is graded for sizes XS-5XL. The sizes thereby correspond to chest sizes 71-158 cm or 28-62 inches. The dress has around 20-30 cm (7-12 inches) positive ease around the widest part of the chest. The pattern instructions make it possible to adjust the length to whatever length you prefer, but keep in mind that the dress gets heavier the longer it is. The gauge for the pattern in half double crochet stitches is 18 stitches x 13 rows (10x10 cm or 4x4 inches). If you don't know how to make a gauge swatch, this is explained in the pattern. The materials needed are: ✿ 3.5 mm crochet hook (or hook to meet the gauge) ✿ Super fine (weight 1) cotton yarn: - some yarn suggestions: DROPS Safran, Friends Cotton 8/4, Mandarin Petit from Sandnes Garn -approximate yardage for mini length (70 cm/26 inches long) for sizes (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL): (400) 400 (400) 450 (500) 550 (600) 650 (700) g of the base colour AND (150) 150 (150) 200 (200) 200 (250) 250 (300) g of the flower colour -if you want to make the dress longer you will need more yarn ✿ Scissors ✿ Measuring tape ✿ Tapestry needle When purchasing the pattern you will receive two PDFs: one PDF with the full pattern and one PDF with only the graphs in case you want to print these.
