Eelco Kappe on Instagram: "Don’t look back! Orpheus Leading Eurydice from the Underworld (1861) was painted by the French artist Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot (1796-1875). It shows the story of the famous musician Orpheus who had convinced the Greek gods to let him visit the underworld to bring back his wife Eurydice (who had been fatally bitten by a snake). You can see how the two of them are making their way out on the right side. And in the background are other souls in the underworld…
