This toquilla straw hat, also known as Panama Hat, has been handwoven by expert artisans in Ecuador using natural and sustainable material. Our hats are crafted by hand with genuine Ecuadorian Toquilla straw, using ancient weaving techniques that are part of our heritage and a tradition that is passed out from generation to generation. Harvesting the plants at the right time, following the process to separate the fibers, getting rid of the chlorophyll to have beige straws, let it dry, weaving the hat and giving the finishing touches is the process in which several expert artisans are involved to give us a beautiful hat and this is what makes the Toquilla Straw Hat (Panama Hat) so special and unique, it is one-of-a-kind creation; truly a piece of art.
