Victorian Plaid Cotton Bustle Dress, 2 Piece Summer Walking Outfit, 1880s A charming original Victorian 1880's cotton summer bustle dress, 2 piece walking suit outfit. The fabric has a gray, blue and white plaid pattern. The bodice is unlined and has a front center mother of pearl button closure and with long slender fitted sleeves with a fancy cuff at wrist with 2 mother of pearl button accents. Hand stitched as well as machine sewn. The bodice is embellished with a lovely wide pleated center back peplum. The skirt is unlined and the bottom hemline has a wide band of ruching. CONDITION: The dress is in very good condition. There is no underarm discoloration. There are a few scattered slightly larger then pencil tip size holes and age spots on the bodice, as seen in photo, and few small homes in skirt and bottom flounce. The waist band of skirt does not have buttons or hooks for closure. MEASUREMENTS: BODICE: Bust 34", Waist 26", Sleeve length 19-3/4", Length from shoulder to bodice hem edge 18", Shoulders across back 15", Neck back to bottom of bodice peplum 23", neck opening circumference 17-1/2". SKIRT: Waist 25", Length of skirt 40". In good, presentable condition and a great display gown for study or display. Could be used for reenactment gatherings.
