A dramatic and dazzling pair of Catalan drop earrings dating to the early 1800s. Known as 'herring' earrings due to the resemblance of their silhouette to herrings in brine, a popular dish of the region, they are set with a total of 74 diamonds, mainly rose- and table-cuts.
