The silk layer has frayed a bit and needs to be trimmed and rehemmed, if it bothers you. It can not be seen from the outside of the garment. This is the quintessential classic wedding gown from the mid-1950's. However, the provenance I have is that it was last worn in 1972. Perhaps it was a mother's or grandmother's gown and the zipper was changed out to a more modern nylon one instead to the original metal one 6 tiers of chantilly lace creates this dreamy skirt and train.
