The development of Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) is transforming the automotive industry. This change not only brings technological challenges, but also requires new ways of thinking, structures, and an adaptation of corporate culture. How can OEMs adapt their strategies, attract talent and create an 'Autosoft' culture that unites hardware and software? Our colleagues conducted interviews with industry leaders from Europe, the US, Asia and other regions, with results showing that companies with a clear focus on talent, culture and leadership have the best chance of successfully managing this change: https://ego.nz/3BMWV1W These topics will also be in focus at CES 2025 in Las Vegas - Andreas Habeck and Christian Rosen will be there and look forward to engaging with experts. #Transformation #Leadership #Autosoft

Art, leadership, and sustainability? This is not a conversation you see every day, but every year at Egon Zehnder we bring together two worlds that don’t usually collide - art and business leadership - for a refreshing and inspiring conversation with key leaders. Enter "The Art of Leadership" our annual hallmark event during Miami Art Week. This year's theme: "Art meets sustainability" explored the intersection of art, leadership, and sustainability. As consultant and panelist Ana Paula González shared, climate change and sustainability issues can be daunting. Art is a medium to help express complexity in an approachable way. It creates awareness, it inspires, and calls to action in a way that pure rationality can’t. And business leadership can then address these issues / and market opportunities in a scalable way. Throughout history all great movements began with a call to people’s humanity, which gave confidence and strength to drive transformation. At this year's event, under the wondrous Aquarium at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, we were privileged to host a roomful of senior business, government, social, and arts leaders. In an inspiring mother-son conversation, Merit Janow, Chair of Mastercard and her son, artist, designer and producer Asher Young Studio shared how their relationship has helped them grow and enrich their perspective and work. In a dynamic panel Xavier Cortada, Miami's pioneer eco-artist and Roberto Marques former CEO and Chair of Natura &Co held a dialogue on how business and community are interconnected, the role of the arts in creating this awareness, how to tap into your creative force to drive the right agenda, and how it is possible to pursue growth, profit AND impact. The experience was completed by a workshop led by Adam Roberti where leaders got intimately acquainted with the impact of climate change in Miami and were invited to co-create a mural with Xavier Cortada that includes their commitments to the climate agenda and that will be showcased at the University of Miami Herbert Business School for generations to draw inspiration and strength from. Thank you Catherine Zhu, Gabi Carvalho, and Bernhard Scholl for your leadership, and the whole Egon Zehnder team that made this possible: Nathalie Di Carpio, Haythem Rabti, Carolina Torres, Nidia Valles, Isel Peña, and Kate Newman. #LeadershipForABetterWorld

The main topics ranged from leading with empathy and authenticity, emphasizing people, technology, and clients, to embracing transparency and building a culture of curiosity. As one Chief Operating Officer noted, "As leaders, given the complexity in the world, we are having to know so much about so many things. A jack of all trades." As complexity increases, board members can no longer rely on traditional governance models and board agendas alone to make strategic shifts. This is where board stewardship becomes critical. And while it may be uncharted territory for many board members, we see it as an essential journey to start if we are to move from intent to reality.
