The best silk satin fabric of a medium to heavyweight with a strong sheen. It's in a buttery cream colour. The bodice is quite plain with five pintuck features at the waist. It's at the hip and skirt area that this gown comes into its own. Diagonal design lines at the drop waist with a pointed design on one side. That curved design line then becomes an upward wave in the hemline. A full flared skirt that dips at the back to a slight train. The sleeve cuffs are pointed with press studs closure. Side closure in the dress is hooks and eyes. The underarms have perspiration guards which have protected the dress from any stains. This has been laundered and is in excellent + condition. At the rear waist area the cream colour appears slightly darker. It's not really noticeable due to buttery sheen but I mention it anyway. See last photos.Amazing that it has survived so beautifully for a whole century. Clearly it was well stored. A small posie of wax flowers was attached to one side of the dress. That will also be included. You could place it anywhere on the dress.
