This beautiful, black ceramic ring features large chunks of black fire opal that have been thoughtfully arranged, one at a time, around the ring. This is a darker black opal than the other black opal listing in my shop in case you are comparing the two. The beauty of this ring is very difficult to depict in pictures. The dark, black lab grown opal reflects and refracts the light as you move the ring revealing deep, ruby-red colors highlighted by understated deep blue colors. It reminds me of smoldering, hot coals or embers in a camp fire. It really needs to be seen to be appreciated. This ring can be made in US sizes 6 to 14 including half sizes (but not 14.5). The ring pictured is 8mm wide with a 4mm wide inlay channel. It features rounded and beveled edges for a very comfortable fit (comfort fit band). This ring can also be made with a silver tungsten band of the same style and I have 6 different types of opal to work with including, black fire opal, blue fire opal, peacock (bright green and blue mix) Pacific Blue Fire Opal, and Grey Fire Opal. Please let me know if you would like to change the band to silver tungsten or a different color opal inlay. I use lab created opal in my rings but please do not confuse this with "fake opal" which is just made with resin and dyes. You can see this in many of the cheaper opal rings that look like they have an opal sheet of plastic wrapped around the inlay of the ring. I use only the highest quality lab opal stone that has the same properties as opal that has been mined from the earth. The main difference is that it has taken over a year to grow in a lab in layers which gives it the light refracting and shimmering qualities it has. Mined Opal of this quality is very rare and would be cost prohibitive to work with so all the listings you see online selling opal jewelry are using either lab created opal or fake opal (in the cheaper ones) unless they specify otherwise. After the stones are set in place around the ring, they are ground, polished, and covered in a super strong, crystal-clear, waterproof resin that insures the stones will never fall out of the ring. The resin completely encases the stones so that you can see each one perfectly but you will not feel them. SIZING... Ceramic rings cannot be resized. Please be sure to have your finger sized at a jewelry store before ordering if you are not sure of your size. Rings that are returned to me are almost always returned because of customers trying to use charts and measurements found on the Internet. This very often results in incorrect sizing. Be sure to let your jeweler know you want to be sized for a "comfort fit" ring. Please Note: Every ring is made to order and thus, unique. No two rings will look exactly alike but will be very similar to what you see in the pictures.
