Description
English: Edward Phillips Fetherstonhaugh (1879-1959). Dean of Engineering and Architecture. In 1909 he was appointed Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Manitoba. During WWI, he served as a Major in the Canadian Engineers and later as Commanding Officer of the Canadian Officers in Training Corps COTC at the University of Manitoba (1924-1930). In 1921 he became Dean of Engineering at the University of Manitoba. A member of the National Research Council (1936-1945), and its President in 1945. He received honorary degrees from McGill University (1945) and the University of Manitoba (1947).
