Right now, I'm a stickler and I weigh everything that I put into my mouth. In the long run, you can just eye ball things after learning about portions. Do you have a digital scale? It is a must to me if you are really into counting calories. I was 216 pounds, but I'm 6'2. I dropped down to 200 quickly without any exercise at all and just counting calories. I did this in just over 2 months. I just weighed things that couldn't be exact measurements (fruits, meat, etc). I was SHOCKED at what some of my portions were when I didn't have a scale.
