I am wondering about the Chisholm Trail today because on this day back in 1868 the founder of that trail, Jesse Chisholm, passed away bringing an interesting time in U.S. western history to an end. He died of food poisoning, accidental, I am sure. Jesse Chisholm was born in Tennessee (wasn't Davy Crockett born in that state, too). His father was Scottish and his mother was a Cherokee.
