Interests

edit

My interests are history, religion, writing, and science.

Introduction

edit

Not sure how this goes, but "Hello!" I'm a writer living in the northeast and trying my hand as the full time writing career (which means having a dangerous potential to waste time here).

My POV

edit

I have a bias for reliable and verifiable information. Arbitrary deletion of sourced material is simply vandalism, regardless of the excuse. If information is misplaced, move it. If you don't like the source, upgrade it. But don't delete it. Deletion is lazy, and we are here to build an encyclopedia, rather than vandalize each other's work.

Methodology

edit

There are two basic methods a good editor can follow:

  1. Find an article, and find every source that applies to it.
  2. Find a source, and find every article it applies to.

While the first method is needed (and standard), the second method is a good corner to crawl into when you're burned out. You'll make less controversial edits, won't need to look back to see if they get deleted, and can simply pull every gem you can find in the book you're presently curled up with.

Call it a working vacation...

BarnStars

  The Socratic Barnstar

  The Surreal Barnstar
For: "Anything else would be the equivalent of doing far more than Wikipedia is set up for: pinning the proverbial tail on someone's sacred bull, and leaving the rest clamoring to pull down their own deity's jeans on a hundred different pages." (Talk:Gender of God) I can't say I really follow the metaphor, but damn, I like it! L'Aqùatique[review] 19:36, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
  Civility Award
For unflappable patience and civility responding to a mistaken block until the blocking administrator returned and lifted it with apologies. A comedy of errors and a holiday weekend delayed the correction much longer than would ordinarily occur. For good sense and optimism that could give a happy ending to anything, please accept a well-deserved barnstar. DurovaCharge! 15:34, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
