Arsim Nazmi Muzaqi (November 13,1978 -April 26, 1999) was born in Vushtrri. He was a soldier in the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). He is remembered for his contribution to the Kosovo War, during which he lost his life.[1]

Biography

Muzaqi attended the "Mustafë Venhari primary school (formerly 21 Nëntori) in Vushtrri, where he was recognized for his dedication to his studies. He was regarded positively by both his peers and teachers for his disciplined approach to learning.

He was also actively involved in sports, particularly karate and achieved the title of Kosovo youth champion. His involvement in sports contributed to his physical development and personal discipline. His early life was shaped by his focus on education, sports and family.[1]

Participation in the Kosovo War

Arsim Nazmi Muzaqi joined the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) on August 25, 1998, serving in the 4th Battalion of the 141st Brigade "Mehë Uka" in the Shala Operational Zone. He took part in several military operations in areas such as Aslan, Rahovë, Mazhiq and Kutllovc. As a member of the special unit of Kosovo, he was involved in various high-risk missions and strategic operations during the War.[2]

Battle of Melenicë

Muzaqi died on April 26, 1999, during a battle in the Majdan while severing with the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). He was involved in the conflict alongside other members of the KLA, including Shemsi Ahmeti and Rrustem Hyseni, he participated in the clashes that occurred as a part of the Kosovo War.[3][2][4]

Honors

After his death, he was honored with the title "Hero of Kosovo," and a street in the city of Vushtrri was named after him to commemorate his sacrifice for the freedom of Kosovo.[5]
