[[File:Information.svg|25px|alt=Information icon]] Hi, and thank you for [[Special:Contributions/Mbis Saravon|your contributions]] to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "[[Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Fixing cut-and-paste moves|cut-and-paste move]]", and it is undesirable because it splits the [[Help:Page history|page history]], which is [[Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia|legally required for attribution]]. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be ''moved'' to a new title together with their edit history. |
|||
In most cases for registered users, once your account is [[Wikipedia:Autoconfirmed|four days old and has ten edits]], you should be able to move an article yourself using the [[Help:Moving a page|"Move" tab]] at the top of the page (the tab may be [[:File:Vector hidden move button.png|hidden in a dropdown menu]] for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a [[Wikipedia:Redirect|redirect]] from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at [[Wikipedia:Requested moves|requested moves]] to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at [[Wikipedia:Requests for history merge]]. Thank you. <!-- Template:uw-c&pmove --> [[User:Chipmunkdavis|CMD]] ([[User talk:Chipmunkdavis|talk]]) 12:55, 18 January 2022 (UTC) |

[[Image:Information.svg|25px|alt=Information icon]] Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some [[Wikipedia:Article titles|guidelines]] in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the [[:testwiki:|test]] Wikipedia. Take a look at the [[Wikipedia:Welcome|welcome page]] to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. [[Image:Information.svg|25px|alt=Information icon]] Thank you for [[Special:Contributions/Mbis Saravon|your contributions]] to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, [[WP:Copyrights|Wikipedia's licensing]] does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an [[Help:Edit summary|edit summary]] at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and [[Help:Link#Wikilinks|linking]] to the copied page, e.g., <code>copied content from <nowiki>[[page name]]</nowiki>; see that page's history for attribution</code>. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{tl|copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at [[Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia]]. ''Please also note that we try to avoid [[Wikipedia:Content forking]], where articles would be identical or near-identical. Changes should also come with [[WP:Reliable sources]] that support them.'' <!-- Template:uw-copying --> [[User:Chipmunkdavis|CMD]] ([[User talk:Chipmunkdavis|talk]]) 17:33, 18 January 2022 (UTC) |

The article Nusantara metropolitan area has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Speculative article about a proposed capital. No mention of this topic in media, demonstrated by the lack of references in the article (the linked further reading don't even have any mention about metropolitan area).
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Regards, Jeromi Mikhael 03:16, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Jeromi Mikhael: it is not speculation, both Nusantara and Nusantara metropolitan area has already officially announced by the official government of Indonesia, even the official website has already explained it all, similar topic also found such as the New Administrative Capital for Egypt, and those capital didn't even have official name yet, but these Indonesian new capital already officially announced, you can even search about the official Indonesian bills in the official website regarding these matter. Thank you. (Mbis Saravon (talk) 03:30, 19 January 2022 (UTC))
Nomination of Nusantara metropolitan area for deletion
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nusantara metropolitan area until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. IPA help pages
Hi! Thank you for digging into the IPA help pages: it's always good to have more hands at work there. However, your splitting of the Malay page into two has been objected to several times – please don't just do it again, because that may seem disruptive. You can propose it on the talk page: that way you stand an actual chance of gaining consensus. I know it may be annoying to have to explain things when you're certain you're right, but that's how things work around here.
For IPA pages in particular, you may find it useful to know that it's common to have a combined help page for closely related languages, see for example Help:IPA/Hindi and Urdu or Help:IPA/Serbo-Croatian. Of course, that doesn't mean we should combine pages in all case, but it may help set the context. Thanks! – Uanfala (talk) 13:25, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Uanfala: Hello, thank you for your concern about these particular page, but I strongly disagree upon the idea to classify Indonesian IPA under the Malay IPA since both language didn't share the same pronounciation, even the references used in Help:IPA/Malay are all using "Indonesian" pronounciation and even clearly "Indonesian" references. I'm the native speaker of Indonesian and Malay, and I could assure you it's different and not even mutually intelligible, especially the Malay pronunciation in Malaysia is way too different since that country using British alphabetic pronunciation. I hope you would love to help me to distinguish between both IPA because it is not even the same. (Mbis Saravon (talk) 13:37, 19 January 2022 (UTC))
- As far as I can see, your edits to the IPA pages changed the example words and occasionally the English equivalents, but left the pronunciation the same for both pages. If these are the only differences, then it's difficult for me to see the case for separate IPA keys. Still, you can bring it up on Help talk:IPA/Malay: that way you'll likely get feedback from people who both know Malay and have a background in phonetics. – Uanfala (talk) 14:32, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Uanfala: Well, because it is the Indonesian pronunciation... I left it the same because it is what it is, I suspected that the page for Indonesian language severely vandalised in all aspect including the Help:IPA/Indonesian itself, you can clearly see in the Help:IPA/Malay are even using the references of Indonesian language not the Malay language. Furthermore, interestingly I can't even see the correct pronunciation for Malay because it is simply about Indonesian language but has been redirected carelessly to the "Malay language", I'm both speaker of Indonesian and Malay languages and I can tell the differences. And btw I can't even find the history edit for Help:IPA/Indonesia because apparently you are also the one who carelessly redirected it to Help:IPA/Malay without even trying to build the communication with the native speakers itself. Your action (and former actions) by redirecting Indonesian to Malay can be seen as degrading and trying to erase the identity of Indonesian language itself.
