This article needs images of more common forms of the Danso "단소" including the common plastic dolgi Danso "돌기 단새". The image shown is an inexpensive, not so good bamboo version. Most decent bamboo Dansos include the root bole opposite the blown end.
SCALE INCORRECT
The Danso naturally plays in the B flat scale. The full range is two octaves and the instrument is capable of playing heptatonic scales by using half steps.
RELATION OF THE DANSO
The relation of the Danso to other Korean instruments and different forms of the Danso need to be discussed.
CURRENT USE OF THE DANSO
The Danso is currently taught in grade school and as a serious instrument.
