  Worm, I would like to start practicing with AWB, some of my fellow wikimedians are using it. They want me to develop some plugins kind of stuff to the tool.   @Worm That Turned: Oh, was it that many [semi-]automated edits really? I guess I do use checklinks and refill a fair amount (though I do actually keep an eye on them to make sure they don't, for example, do anything horrible to link titles -- and when they do propose to horribly mangle titles, I go back and try to make the new title at least as good as the old one; also, most of the links I fix with checklinks I had to wade through a bunch of archived copies of what look suspiciously similar to 404 pages), and I had noticed that xtools-ec doesn't seem to count edits made using those tools. So, um, what tool are you using to count edits?

  Oh, and as to what I'm looking to use AWB for, lately I've mainly been contemplating things like adding [most of] the pages listed in a navigation template, such as {{Conway's Game of Life}}, to an appropriate category. Maybe HotCat can do that already, but I'd feel more comfortable being able to check each edit (one of those novels doesn't really seem to have much to do with the Game of Life), and I wouldn't have to worry about accidentally triggering the wrong flurry of edits. (If it seems like I'm strangely familiar with AWB, that's because I've already used it on commons.)

  Anyway, if you'd rather I do more edits and ask again later, I guess I'll just have to wait a bit longer before I can actually do any of the little tasks that make me think "well that would sure be easy to do with AWB".
