From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm currently a little busy and could do with taking a few days off Wikipedia. I'm not saying I won't edit at all, but I'm going to stay out of things for a week or so, probably till late February. Please don't expect quick or in depth responses to any messages in that time! --Robdurbar 22:47, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

About Me

[edit]

Hi, I'm a student currently at University of Durham, living in Barrow-in-Furness when I'm not there. I was using Wikipedia for about 3 months regularly before I created this account. I've been here for a year now and have managed to amass a worringly high amount of edits in that time. In August 2006 I became an admin on the English language Wikipedia. Thanks to all who voted, particulalrly those who I've had disagreements with in the past.

My interests in Wikipedia include articles on the United Kingdom and releated topics, Durham University and Barrow; my first edit was a totally un-wiki creation on Barrow AFC. I have continued to contribute to football articles as regularly as anything else, but haven't got any real 'areas of expertise'.

Back in January 2006 I stumbled across the List of best-selling music artists page. Despite the fact that it was one of the most edited pages on Wikipedia(its now plummted down the top 100 somewhat), it was a complete mess, with made up figures and a lot of vandalism. Half of the 'sources' were other Wikipedia pages or websites that mirrored the page itself! Anyway, I'd like to think I've cleaned it up a bit, though the list is still far from being complete - so if anyone knows any verifiable additions, please add some there now!

My reading on Wikipedia is quite varied, often find myself getting lost in topics I didn't know that I was interested in!

Because its nice to be nice
