treasure for your pleasure: marie antoinette
A rare miniature portrait of the four children of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette: Marie Thérèse, Louis Joseph, Louis Charles, and Sophie. The miniature, attributed to Jean Pierre Chasselat (1748 - 1814), would have likely been completed in 1787, before Sophies death at just 11 months of age. image: Auxerre Enchères

LOVE! Strawberry blonde hedgehog + pink and green! I want to be her!
Marie's "feathers" really make this an interesting portrait.
Marie Antoinette’s clothes collection was vast, with three whole rooms put aside at Versailles just to store it. The rooms were open to public so it was possible to visit the Queen’s clothes
Rare representation of the four children of Louis XVI and Marie - Antoinette together: The oldest, Maria Theresa called Madame Royale (1778 + 1851), future Duchess of Angoulême and was the only one to survive the revolution. The first Dauphin Louis (1781 + 1789), died at the beginning of the event. The future Louis XVII (1785 + 1795), died in the Temple. Miss Sophie (1786 + 1787), whose death at 11 months allows us to date the miniature of 1787.
