Abandoned farmhouse

This abandoned farmhouse was so far off the road i had to grab my tripod and telephoto for a clear shot. ....It sits in the Goldendale Valley and the mountains in the background are the Cascades. Two miles west of Centerville,WA

This house is down the hill and about 150 yards from our old farm in Lee County, VA. Before we built the house we lived in from 1975 through 1980 we stored a bunch of our furniture and other stuff in this house. And yes, at that time it was occupied. An old spinster lived there with her nephew. Now that I think back about that house and about them, there was something a bit Dickensian about them and that old house. I imagine it was really something back in the days when it was first built.

Was about that time of day when the sun was getting just 'so' ... as we began walking towards this intriguing treasure across the road from, "The House."(Set). It was a terrific evening, just a slight breeze, 25 degrees & lots to explore. Some memorable moments were Kat ( www.flickr.com/photos/mudkat/ ) striking some Yoga poses while taking it all in (delving into a new Yoga sport by daring us to have a pose-off !?) ... BJ ( www.flickr.com/photos/14410721@N03/ ) braving the old Outhouse…

I'll call this abandoned, but it looks like someone is trying to save it. It looks like it could be a real beauty. It is near Millerton, NY.

Some parts of the house have been hit harder by the march of time than others.
