This week we were using acrylic paint on fabric to create different effects. We started by stippling some calico with a dry brush using 2 colours - blue and yellow in my case, resulting in lots of green and looking like a flowery meadow! Folded from a 60cm x 40cm sheet of handmade flax and abaca paper, made by my partner Ioana Stoian at Cave Paper in Minneapolis. This piece is currently on display at the Holland Paper Biennal 2012, at the Museum Rijswijk in the Hague, Netherlands. It is heavily hand-burnished and crushed, then lightly waxed. the paper itself was about 200gsm in thickness and not sized, so it had a very soft feel to it (before it was burnished, of course.)
