my most asked question of this hack has been for the drawers.

Once you have finished framing all of the front of the cabinets with either mdf or your 36mm pine batons (if two units joining) then you can measure to work out what’s needed for your drawers. You want to measure the width & height of the space from your bottom piece of MDF up to the bottom of the middle shelf. Once you have this number, you want to subtract the allowance you have to leave for between the drawers & the central baton. I used 2mm tile spacers so had to subtract 10mm from my height. After you’ve done this you will then divide by 4 to get the height of the individual drawer fronts. If I had never DIYed, I think AURDAL would be a clear winner. It’s lightweight and easy to install. However, the PAX system is a dream closet with all the different inserts like jewelry, belts, pants, shoes, etc..

💅 Design: IKEA PAX design options are endless. The BEST part of this closet is that there are endless organizers. There are different drawer sizes, clothes rails, jewelry and watch organizers. AURDAL only has drawers, and shoe shelves.

🔩Materials: One of the biggest downsides of AURDAL is the materials. The edges of the frame are made of MDF. Then, the center is filled with honeycomb paper filling. PAX is made of MDF.
