Few animals are confused more often than crocodiles and alligators. Sometimes it seems that there is no difference between them at all and that they are just the same reptiles. But this isn’t true. There are indeed a few differences between crocodiles and alligators.

Crocodile vs Alligator. Note the difference in jaw shape (alligator is a U shape, crocodile more of a V), the back of the necks, and that the crocodile's bottom teeth are visible when its mouth is closed. Don't trust labels on pictures. I see lots of alligators and crocodiles mislabeled even on respectable/scientific sites. Everyone makes mistakes...including me.
