I have to say the pictures really don't do this fabulous Ethiopian welo opal any justice, there is so much fire in this stone that it was simply impossible to capture every little detail of it in one single shot. I hand carved this unique setting in wax and had it cast in solid 14k yellow gold. After setting the stone the gold was polished to a soft finish which brings out the colors even more. The pendant hangs from a solid 14k gold cable chain and closes with a 14k gold lobster clasp. The setting itself measures 7.5 mm in diameter and the cabochon measures 6 mm. Please keep in mind that these opals are a 100% created by nature so no 2 are exactly alike, each stone has a different color spectrum ranging from greens to blues, yellows, oranges, and white but I make sure that the stone you will receive is as vibrant as the one shown in this listing. This is a great little necklace with lots of character that may become a beautiful heirloom. Great for layering or to just wear by itself.
