This fantastic 2-piece wedding gown dates back to 1895. The bodice is constructed of silk charmeuse and tissue silk with lush Irish lace adornments, culminating in fine Tambour lace lower sleeves. The inside of the bodice is complete with boning and a label reading Miller & Co., with their New York address. The trained skirt has a silk charmeuse lining covered in large sections of more fine Irish lace. The bottom of the gown is fashioned from delicate pleated tissue silk. The inner silk lining is in remarkable condition with only a couple of small mends. The tissue silk overlay is in remarkable shape given the nature of tissue silk and the gown's 130+ years. There are a handful of mends that are camouflaged within the pleats and folds. I have attached a picture of 2 example mends. There are also a few tiny pin holes scattered within the train. Again, you have to search to find these. Both the bodice and skirt close with multiple hooks and eyes. The expansive areas of Irish lace are in fabulous condition with no visible damage. This is truly one of the best preserved Irish lace wedding gowns I have ever seen. Truly a remarkable work of textile art! In regard to sizing, the mannequin is a size 2-4, height 5' 11". The skirt waist measures 26 inches; the bodice has extra room, and I'd estimate it as 35-36 inches. Hips are full.
