It can be worn daily in the shower, pool, and ocean; and it will stay shiny & new looking for decades. I literally never take my gold filled bracelets and rings off and they look as shiny and gold as the day I put them on :) This precious metal is much higher quality than thinly gold plated pieces. 14k gold fill is composed of a thick layer of gold over jeweler's brass, which is actually fused to its base. This is why 14k gold fill doesn't flake or fade. It is the same color as solid gold because its outer layer is just that: 5% solid gold. It's not that bright yellow gold color that plated jewelry is. 14k gold fill is also nickel-free and suitable for sensitive skin.
