The differences that you can expect to find on our premium shelves are: - Pieces are sanded to a fine finish, stained, and finished with two coats of durable lacquer, leaving them with a beautiful satin sheen. These shelves are smooth, and easy to clean. The lacquer finish also protects the wood from stains caused by spills, and makes them easy to dust. - No nail marks on the face. We assemble these shelves in a manner that does not require shooting brad nails through the face. Even when puttied, nail holes will always be visible due to the putty accepting stain differently than the natural wood. - No visible cracks. We fill all cracks and holes before the final sand, ensuring a smooth even surface. Knots, and wood grain however will still show through the stain providing a classic wood look.
